She's a Kansas City native who is new to the music and jazz community here. She met Brandon Day and Alan Voss via a serendipitous Craigslist connection. These two musicians mentored her and gently introduced her to performing live jazz, which has been a source of great joy and the fulfillment of a childhood dream. The Emily Dix Collective assembled in August of 2018.
